Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen. ~ Michael Jordan Please sign up to attend conference meets. Real swimmers don't make excuses. They make WAVES!
Lombard Waves, that is... The Coaches Lane ... The coaches would like all swimmers to have a back up pair of goggles in their bag. By having two pairs of goggles, the coaches won't be dealing with fixing or replacing goggles during the meets which takes their focus away from the events. Also as a reminder, girls should be wearing one piece suits as well as swimming caps... no matter the length of the hair. Michael Phelps once said, "I wouldn't say anything is impossible. I think everything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and put the work and time into it." Coach Joe wishes to remind everyone how important it is to be at the morning practices. Attendance at practice is crucial to having each swimmer at their personal best. The Lombard Park District Swim and Dive Team offers competition and camaraderie for swimmers of all ability levels for grades 1 - 12. Meets are held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The Lombard Waves Junior Swim Team introduces basic skills and competition to the beginning swim team swimmer. Swim meet entries are limited to home meets. These junior team members practice three (3) times a week in the morning. Junior team members must be able to swim one lap of the pool without stopping and without touching the bottom or lane ropes. The Lombard Waves White Team is for the returning swimmer, age 10 and younger, focusing on swimming skills and competition. Our Lombard Waves Blue Team is geared toward the experienced competitive swimmer. Practices emphasize advanced stroke mechanics and competition to the advanced swim team swimmer. The Blue and White Team members practice five (5) times a week in the morning. Coaches: Joe Bonham and Matt Scaliantine
